Please, PLEASE read....

A bit of a sad post today, one of the paper crafting blogs I followed had this story on it. I love children adn this situation really touched my heart. If you could take the time to follow the link back to Claudia's blog that would be wonderful...and pray....

Patriotic Box

My blog's are sadly neglected!! I am back for at least today however, and have this box to show you. It is for my Aunt, who's birthday is Saturday. :)

The design/dimentions for this box are the same as the other two I have done. This one turned out better I think, proving that practice dose make perfect. ;)

I am very proud of myself for doing a whole box with no patterned paper!! I wanted the feel of the box to be simple, but still be pretty and girly, and have the Americana theme. All of the papers where open-stock from Jo-Anns. All the flowers from Wild Orchid. :)

Everything is heavily glittered, naturally, and I colored the Strawberry Girl with my watercolor pencils.

Here is the bottom of the box. I used the center punch from the Fluer de lie spellbinders die cut, and beads for the feet which I glued on with tacky glue.
Have a great day!!

Cutie Post-It Notes :)

Hello All!!! I hope you are having this lovely sunshine that I am!!! If not though, I will soak up some extra for you. ;)  Ok, down to business. This nifty lil treasure is a fancy holder for a pad of sticky notes. The next ones I do will have a magnet on the back so they can hang on the fridge...these are just decorated on the back.

The slot on the side holds a mini gel pen perfectly. :)

The flowers are Wild Orchid, papers are my usual ;) everything else was in my stash!! These are great because they are small enough that you can use up little things that would look dumb on a card lol....

Here is an open view so you can see how perfectly these fit in here.....
Have a great day!! Off to a baseball game I go...  :)

Another box!

Good morning! The weather is gorgeous today! This will be a shorter post today so I can get my crafting/ housework done and go out to enjoy the sun :)

The pattern for the box itself is something I came up with. Its made out of cardboard and cardstock. All the papers are open-stock from Jo-Anns, and they are the core-dinations papers. (I think thats how you spell it)

The lace, pearls, heart slider, and butterfly charm are from my stash. :)

I stand corrected. All the papers EXCEPT the patterned ones, are open stock. The patterened papers are a K&Co. pad, and the 'Hope' sticker is from a package of stickers that coordinates beautifuly.

All my flowers are Wild Orchid, as always ;) Love their stuff!!!

And of course everything is heavily glittered hehehehehe nothin wrong with that!!!
Have a lovely day and get out and enjoy this weather!!!!

(I apologize for lack of links, and any spelling errors. I've not been feeling well since Thursday, and my head is very fuzzy inside :p)

Something New

Sadly, my blog has been veryyy neglected! :(  After getting alot of baking, gardening, and mowing done today, I need a bit of down time and finally am getting around to posting. ;)

These are....well a number of things lol I slid them onto either a bobby pin or a headband, but you could put them on your purse, the strap on a sundress, diaper bag, the possibilities are endless!!!

I posted single pics of my favorite two. I used fabric, lace and ribbon from our stash which made them free to make! :)

Thanks for peeking!!! I hope you enjoyed :)

Vintage Victorian

Good Morning to you all! I am sooo glad the weather is finally warming up! Time to bring out the flip-flops! lol ;)   Yesterday while I was stuck inside I made this little beauty. I love it!

I must admit, I've been in sort of a slump since Saturday, not liking anything I did, and when I sat down Tuesday, it seemed all I could make was a mess. :( But as I was looking through very old posts on lots of blogs, I found one that had a box that had a peek hole. I'd been wanting to do something vintage-y, and all of a sudden my mind took off! :) I used the dimentions from my book-box (which I have yet to post lol) but instead of making a book insert I just did a box.

After I had the basic box done....time to emellish!!!! I had so much fun! I used vintage lace, pearls and crystals, and of course lots of flowers. I wanted a lace doily to go on the inside, but couldnt find any small enough so i hot glued lace onto the back of my paper and I think it worked pretty good. :)

So it was all going really good until I lined the inside edges with lace......now my box wouldnt close!!! Oh I got so upset! What was I to do?? Then.....insperation!!! My mom always made my clothes growing up because we could never find anything that fit..sooooo I raided her drawer and found a hook and eye from jeans, and made my own latch! It works really good :)

Okk now down to business.....alot of this stuff was from my mom's and my stash. I've been digging through drawers lately and finding great things I forgot we had! all of the pearls where from a kit for..something? From years ago, as was the stick pin. I used the pearls from that kit and gold beads from my bead bin. All of my flowers are from Wild Orchid, and the really big shock----I didn't glitter them!! I wanted to really keep the vintage/victorian feel, and I wasnt sure if glitter fit into that. I really like it glitterless though which is a surprise from me! ;) I think the lack of glitter makes it more elegant though.  The paper was K & Company Classic K McKenna.

This is the back of the box, I used more vintage lace, pearls, and more coordinating paper. I inked the edges of it to try and give it a distressed look/feel.

Oh before I forget- the pearl sprays are from the bridal section at Hobby Lobby. I have to go get more!! I'm running low!!! The punch for the border on the box was a MS punch around the page, and I used the nesties die labels four, and I used the die 'fleur de lis' for the latch.

And here's the bottom. I wanted to make it fancy also, so I distressed this paper as well, and added cutey little feet. :) I used white beads from my stash, and then put silver bead caps on the bottom of those. I don't have my own personal stamp yet like my mom, but I'm improvising for now ;) lol..

And last but not least I am entering my box into these challenges...
1. Mami Doodles - punch/die cut
2. Craft Your Passion - anything goes
3. Anything Goes - pearls
4. The Crazy Challenge - just add flowers
5. Papertake Weekly - anything goes
6. Creative Inspirations - punches and dies
7. Freshly Brewed - flowers

Thanks so much for peeking!

April showers bring May flowers....May flowers bring June weddings!!!

Hello and happy rainy gloomy day ;) I wish Spring would get here already! *sigh* Todays card is bright and cheery though!

I really love how this one turned out, I had other plans on how to finish this one, but set it aside for other projects, and when I picked it back up.....not a clue about how I had wanted to complete it! lol :) I do like this though ;) The paper I used was a great stack by DCWV called 'Nana's Kitchen' but as you can see it is very versitale!

The wedding cake I painted with acrylics, and it was an old stamp from Stampin Up! that came in a great set of three. :) The charm and beads are from my stash, and the sentiment was from the bottom of my drawer also. ;)

My flowers are from Wild Orchid as always. :) And ya can't go wrong with alot of glitter. :) I also decided to mix it up a bit and go with both pearls and rhinestones, and I really like it. To me the pearls are very much wedding, but the rhinestones picked up on the sparkle :)
Thanks for peeking!
